WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Even though Santaland Diaries was a little funnier in this version, I felt that the rest of the vignettes tried too hard to be funny and didn't have enough substance to really do it for me. Still, it is a short-but-sweet read that is good for a laugh, which is definitely useful during the stressful holiday season.
RELEASE NOTES:
ALso being sent to my Secret Santa recipient since it was also on their wish list. I hope it makes their holiday a little brighter, or at least more humorous.

What a fantastic surprise to receive this from my Secret Santa... especially after I'd been toying with buying it myself for Christmas! Thank you :)
I love SantaLand Diaries, but nothing else in this really grabbed me. Each of the stories have their moments, but the story of Crumpet the Elf is the only one which has any real substance to back up the humor.
I do like the blurb on the back though: "Holidays On Ice collects six of David Sedaris's most profound Christmas stories into one slender volume perfect for use as a last-minute coaster or ice scraper. This drinking man's companion can be enjoyed by the warmth of a raging fire, the glow of a brilliantly decorated tree, or even in the backseat of a van or police car. It should be read with your eyes, felt with your heart, and heard only when spoken to. It should, in short, behave much like a book. And, oh, what a book it is!"
Going out as a RABCK to rainwolfe as it's on her wishlist and I think it's really cool that she's a PI!
