Bought to read and release.
Finally got around to reading this one - I was keen to read it after having had the Stone Diaries on a bookring. An interesting read, perhaps not quite as good as the Stone Diaries, which I loved, but definitely an author who I'll continue to look out for.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
above the change machine at the entrance to the ladies - not the greatest release spot, but it was tipping it down with rain!

Found this book last Wednesday (4th Jan) in the ladies toilet in Inveraray while en route to Lochgilphead. It was a great spot to leave the book as you couldn't miss it when you walked in the door. It's not really the type of book I'd choose to read but I think it's well written and I am keen to find out what happens in the end. Off to Tiree tomorrow so will take it with me and should finish it there. My decision then will be do I leave it on the island or the ferry or the ferry terminal?

Finished reading the book on Tiree. Enjoyed it and if I see another one of Carol Shields' books I'll certainly give it a go.
Released the book in the ladies toilet at Oban ferry terminal yesterday (16/1/12)

Found on a seat in the ferry terminal; promised the book i won't put it back in the Ladies!
While taking out my specs to read the label I put down my shopping bag containing two bunches of flowers and a basil plant. Left it there and caught ferry home to Mull. No, not my new take on leaving a book to be picked up! Good old Calmac delivered the bag to Mull the next day and a staff member delivered it to my door! Had heard of this book scheme but didn't expect to be caught up in it. Began the book in bed this morning. So far so good.
I wonder how long before it leaves Scotland?
