A moving tale of love and marriage, something like Al Bundy's life?? Biographer William Dubin, while working on a book about D.H. Lawrence ) admits to his latest affair, of cheating on his faithful wife. Just the same he and his younger mistress do not discontinue their on and off relationship. After a romantic ( at least for his girlfriend ) and brief vacation to Venice, which doesn't meet up to his fantasies, he falls into a depression and writers block. I almost felt sorry for him. What a coincidence that the next book I picked up contained short stories from D.H. Lawrence - The Man Who Loved Islands.

Habe ich gestern auf dem Weg zur Arbeit ganz einsam auf einem Fensterbrett (Anlagenstrasse) liegen sehen. Dachte mir gleich, "na das wird doch wohl kein BC-Buch sein?", schnell mal aufgeklappt und tatsächlich: mein erster Wild-Fund. Wollt's auch gleich einpacken aus eben dem Grund. Aber weil ich mit englischer Lektüre nicht wirklich viel anfangen kann, ließ ich es doch liegen… Ein Regenschauer hat mich dann in meiner Pause doch noch mal den Weg gehen lassen, das arme Buch retten…
Kommt nun mit nach Nürnberg, wo es befristeten Aufenthalt erhält.
