From Amazon.co.uk:
This vivid history of New Zealand, by the late Professor Keith Sinclair of the University of Auckland's history department, has long been regarded as a classic, one of the most authoritative studies of this country's history.

This particular edition was printed in 1969. It has since been updated in more recent editions.

Picked up at LittleMave's house during a mini-meet. Many thanks!

Journal Entry 4 by KingstonFlyer from Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear United Kingdom on Thursday, March 29, 2007
I had heard of bookcrossing on UK Radio 4 and the person who left the book I am English.
I read the book whilst on holiday in New Zealand and found it to be a good introduction to New Zealand's history. The author's economic analysis of the early years is very good and the politcal history most informative. However, the book is an old edition and ends in the 1960s. It projection of events has proven not to be accurate though, even this is quite thought provoking. It finishes when NZ had experiences 20 years of agricultural boom but it's primary market Britain was joining the European community. The negative effects of this are very evident to todays visitor to NZ.
I left the book by the entrance to the cafe in the British Library in London on the 23rd March 2007.
