Sixteen year old Geneva Settle is running from death. She's just a bright high school kid researching a paper on one of her ancestors, but someone out there sees her as a threat. Someone who will stop at nothing to prevent her digging up the past. Someone on a mission to kill.

The main theme - black versus white, the 14th ammendment to the US constitution and its implacations - is not very thrilling for someone outside the US.
The story is nicely put together and the turns are typical Deaver, however the story was a little bit too remote for me.
However I think, it is a good idea of bringing the topic towards Americal readers - as the rassism hasn't stopped, but is still boiling. As Geneva said: "The battle didn't stop. It is just harder to identify the enemy..."
