From the back cover:"Attorney Avery Andrews left her BMW behind in Columbia, South Carolina, along with her job at a high-powered law firm. She's come back home to Dacus where the vehicle of choice is a pickup truck with a dog chained in the back. Avery wants time to rethink her career and her life. What she gets is a bossy great aunt drumming up clients and dragging her to social teas. That's how Avery ends up hired by a local factory to help with a messy environmental problem. But she's at Luna Lake because an old high-school classmate is trying to get her attention with a half-baked stunt, when divers find a car containing a corpse. Now the discovery of the dead body sweeps Averyinto a red-hot case...and into the sizzling secrets of small-town life, where some people get away with murder."

Really enjoyed this mystery. Took a little while to get into, but I was soon hooked and didn't want to put it down. Would like to read more by her.

Received in the mail today. The front cover picture is enough to make me want to read this one. Yum!!!! Southern fried chicken.
I enjoyed reading this mystery. The character descriptions of the odd assortment of people that Avery Andrews deals with in this small back woods town is enough to make you laugh. The mystery itself was believable and had enough events to keep your interest. Thanks for sharing loveamystery.
Adding to blackadder75's All Girls Club AKA Women Authors Bookbox.
Looks like I forgot to journal the removal of the book from the box -- opps! But the box only went out to the next person this week so I am not too late.
The cover looks like chiclit but it did suprise me.
I loved this observation of hers and I do want to read more.
Thanks for sharing.
....days after Hurricane Hugo hit. Stalwart oaks, downed or damaged, trashed the streets. Even the palmenttos once used to build fortresses stood ragged. But the magnolias, despite wind and flood, hadn't lost a single waxy leaf, as though their skirts had scarcely been ruffled. Daintiness is disconcertingly deceptive in magnolias.
