This book beckoned from the shelves of the local secondhand bookshop when I was searching for something totally unrelated.

I giggled throughout while reading The Unadulterated Cat, which is spot on about so many of my cats' habits. Nearly everything in this book amused me.

"..never give a cat a name you would mind shouting out in a strained, worried voice around midnight while banging a tin bowl with a spoon." (p. 53)

I often have regrets about calling my cat 99 when I'm shouting for her at midnight (often to find she has snuck inside while I'm still outside sounding foolish.)

Sending this to catalive to accompany another book.

Thanks, goodthinkingmax. I agree about the name thing which is why my dog is called Sherry & not any part of her pedigree name - Goldbrior Orange Blossom. I just couldn't hear myself screaming out: "BLOOOSSSOOOOMMMM!".

I was out looking for Bella the other night, eventually gave up & got ready for bed, flinging dirt clothes into the basket - there she was, in the bottom of my cane clothes basket. Cheeky girl wouldn't tell me though, would she?!

Oh what suckers we are to be owned by a cat/s. This was yet another hilarious book about cats & the way they dominate, or should that be intrude, on our lives.

I may have to pass this book onto some other friends who have cats.

Thanks for sharing & apologies for the delays in journalling.

Seek, read & enjoy.
