A Night to Remember

From the back cover: "This is the story of the 'unsinkable' TITANIC. She was four city blocks long, with the latest, most ingenious safety devices; a French 'side-walk cafe', private promenade decks - - but only twenty lifeboats for the 2,207 passengers on board. Gliding through a calm sea, disdainful of all obstacles, the TITANIC brushed an iceberg. Two hours and forty minutes later she upended and sank. Only 705 survivors were picked up from her half-filled boats . . ."
I definitely found this one to be a worthwhile read ~ the sinking of the Titanic has always been an historical event that held interest for me. The copyright of this little book is 1955 so taking that into account, as well as the fact that the actual event took place in 1912, one gains an insight into society at the time, social class distinction, and how the Titanic's sinking resulted in some significant societal changes.
Released tonight at the BookCrossing meet-up in Barrie, at Tim Horton's (Essa Rd/Bryne Dr).
picked up at meet-up, will read and release for Tick Tock Challenge.
