Book Description
The third time's a charm in the Chintz 'n China series.

After medium Emerald O'Brien literally stumbles across the body of her friend's best buddy, the police blame the death on a cougar attack. But Emerald senses something else wandering the forest--a killer of a more human kind.

Oh gosh what a treat. This is the best of the series so far. While I loved Ghost of a Chance I wasn't as fond of Legend of the Jade Dragon. Well, this book has made up for the last.
This story is chuck full of magic, murder, legends, love, lore and mystery. Emerald is at her best here and oh gosh I would love to explain exactly how I feel but I would give away the complete story.
I will be sending this off to Cheriepie as soon as I have a few extra $$$. I hope all of you enjoy this as much as I have.

This arrived with me today. As usual, I've been flooded with bookrings lately, plus with plans to go to the Ohio meetup with all the rest of the Obsessors in July, I'm trying to get at least 5 books freed up and available to bring for the live swaps. Maybe I'll be able to find some good swap-worthy stuff at the UBS or something.... *shrug*

But anyway, that's a long round-about way of saying that I'll probably have this in my possession a bit longer than a month, though I'll do my best to try not to have it longer than 2. I hope that's okay. :)

Finished this up on the 8th. Could've sworn I put a journal entry in here saying that and that I was waiting to hear back from Joanne to make sure she still wanted all of the other books I have here for her (many picked up from SandDanz when I saw her last month).

I hadn't yet found a chance to write up a review however, which I'm going to attempt to do now so I can cross-post it to my blog as well.

My Review
I very much enjoyed this 3rd book in Galenorn's Chintz 'n' China Mystery series. On the personal front, Emerald's relationship with Joe is beginning to get a bit more serious. And now Autumn is in full swing and the town is getting ready for it's annual Early Autumn Breeze Celebration.

Emerald has also become good friends with Jimbo the biker, who featured in the previous book. And now, Jimbo's friend Scar has gone missing, and tales point to the legendary Klakatat monster, supposedly living in the woods surrounding Klickavail Valley. Scar asks Emerald to use her senses to try to figure out what, if any, ill will has come to Scar since the local police chief isn't too concerned about a missing biker. But what Emerald and Murray discover is older than man itself!

I look forward to more of this series!

This is now reserved for NeedSun, and will be traveling to her within the next week or so.

Thanks very much!

This book was definitely better than Legend of the Jade Dragon. There was a mystery involved and, even though Emerald once again was foolish, there was a lot of adventure. The romance is getting much better. I am so glad how things are evolving for both Murray and Em.

I already have catsalive's address so I will be getting this and Legend of the Jade Dragon into the mail this week.

Thanks NeedSun.

This was the best of the three. Galenorn seems to have found a rythm now & Emerald's character is developing well, as are all the secondary characters. I've reached a point where I'll really be looking forward to the next installment.

Thanks terra57. I'll get them both off to amberC ASAP.

I'm glad Emerald and Joe are together, and it's good to see Murray happier.

I have PM'ed Rianonne and will post as soon as I have her address.

Arrived safe and sound in Vienna together with "Legend of the Jade Dragon".
Both books have to wait till the first in the series arrives ...

Another great read in this series! I love how the characters are developing and look forward to see more of Maeve Elliston and the crystal ball. There was a mystery in the story-line again but I had the feeling that the magic was a bit on a back-burner here.
I've read the first 3 books in a row now and am still ready for more :) That should tell you how much I'm hooked with Emerald and the Chintz'n China series LOL

I have CandyDarlings address and will mail them out as soon as possible!

Ooooooo!!! Thank you soooo much Rianonne for passing this on to me today and to Terra for letting me jump in on this ring!

I never usually read any books in a series too close together and I have loads of books on my tbr pile...but this is a bookring so it needs to go to the top...

Journal Entry 16 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Saturday, March 8, 2008
I am really enjoying this series and this 3rd book in the 'Chitz n China' series has made me happy that I already ordered the next in the series the other week!

In this book we catch up with all the regulars that we have met in the previous books. Including Jimbo who saved Kip in the last book. Love is in the air for both Emerald and Murray which was nice to read about!

The story in this book was good and interesting. I think Emerald used her 'powers' more in the previous books but it is obvious that she still has lots to learn about her abilities.

Can't wait to read the next books and anything else this great author throws at us ;)

Will post out sometime soon with book #2!

The book is here, thank you!

I started reading this back in April, but then life got in the way, and I ended up putting the book aside for several months. :( I picked it up again two days ago, and I had to stay up finishing it, it was so good! I agree with the previous readers, for me too this was the best in the the series so far. I love the way the author writes about the nature, as it reminds me of the time I spent in California, and of the amazing nature there, even though the book is set in the state of Washington. It's great to see how the characters continue to develop, and how the story in these books tie together. I definitely looking forward to reading more by Yasmine Galenorn.

I have Lemonitsa's address, and will be mailing the books to her asap.

Journal Entry 19 by CandyDarling from Helsinki, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Friday, July 18, 2008
I sent this book, together with Legend of the Jade Dragon to Lemonitsa on July 7th.

Arrived this morning along with The Legend of the Jade Dragon. Will be reading both as soon as possible so that they can be on their way again. :)

cheers!

Journal Entry 21 by Lemonitsa from Montréal, Québec Canada on Monday, September 8, 2008
I finished reading this great mystery and I must say that I am glad terra57 introduced me to it. I had lots of fun, the characters are super and it's nice to read something different. I think that I liked this one more than Jade Dragon, and I hope to find the others in the series.

Thanks terra for including me in your ring.
The books are all packaged up, and I'll be mailing them home to you this week.

PS. They *might* smell a little bit like biscotti :P
