and back to me.

Dieses Buch sollte von jedem gelesen werden, ohne dabei den Inhalt falsch zu verstehen.

This book should be read by everyone without misunderstanding the content.
---

To my mind this is one of the most misunderstood books of the world. Ellis does not propagate (sexual) violence, but - as I think - he accuses and criticises the superficiality of a society gone blind by consumption and media.
---

Als Ring möchte ich es anbieten, damit sich jeder davon überzeugen kann, aber vielleicht gibt es auch Leute, die meine Meinung dazu widerlegen möchten. Willkommen ist jedenfalls jede Art von konstruktiver Kritik.

I want to offer this book as a ring, so that everybody may convince himself. But there are maybe some people who would like to disprove my opinion. Welcome is, in any case, every kind of constructive criticism.

Part of a bookring. Got it about a week ago. It's super chilling. I remember being a little nauseous over the really graphic parts. Bret Easto Ellis has some imagination. I'd actually be a little creeped out if he were to sit next to me in the subway.

Journal Entry 7 by marko167 from Sitges, Barcelona Spain on Tuesday, October 9, 2007
Arrived this morning. I will start this as soon as I have finished my current read.

I was looking forward to reading this book and was not disappointed.

It was superbly written, capturing the shallow excessiveness of the 80s perfectly. At times very very funny and at other times almost cyber-punk graphically violent.

It was a relentless book, hitting you time and time again with more and more detail and information. I will certainly be searching out a copy for me recipe book collection.

I've just received the book today and is really looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately I'm very busy at the moment and it might take some time before I finish it. If you get impatient please send me a PM and I wil pass on the book and find another copy.

I finished reading this book a few days ago and it was a rather mixed feeling it left me with. The narrator is an absolutely appalling person because of his horrid actions. On the other hand the book had troubles attracting my attention. Espc, the first 200 pages or so - maybe because I'm too young to get many of the references to his everyday world (clothes, clubs, TV etc.) because it's in the 80ies?

Soleille has asked to be skipped and I have contacted alltimereader for an address and will send the book as soon as I get it.

UPDATE: I haven't been able to get in touch with alltimereader so I will try to contact the next person on the list.

Thanks for sending this book! Nice to get a message from Denmark.

I hate not finishing books, so I gave this book some chances. But I didn't get into it and never got further than a few pages before changing to a book more interesting for me.
So after getting a "remember to send it further"-PM I tried a last time - and failed again.

Perhaps I should have read just some more pages, but I don't want to keep it anymore. If I happen to meet this book again, I will perhaps give it another try, but this copy is now ready for further travel.
