"Comic book artist Daniel Stone never for a moment suspected that the same boy whom his 14 year old daughter, Trixie, loved might inflict upon her the worst possible harm. Could the young man, who once made Trixie's face fill with light when he came to the door, have drugged and then raped her? She says that he did, and that is all it takes to make Daniel, a man with a past he has hidden even from his family, venture to hell and back in order to protect his daughter.
With a story that transports readers from small-town New England to the wilds of the Alaskan bush, and interspersed with the striking pen-and-ink images of Daniel's graphic novel, Jodi Picoult probes the unbreakable bond between parent and child - and the dangerous repercussions of trying to play the hero."
I love all of Jodi Picoult's books and this is no exception. The use of the comic book images is an interesting addition to this book. As usual Picoult shows there is no situation which is completely black and white and I find her books always make me think for a long time afterwards about the issues she raises.

Cool! Thank you so much for this book. This is going to be my first Jodi Picoult book. I've heard a lot about her, and I am really curious how I'll like it.
Thanks again for the RABCK.

Picked up the book at the meeting. I've read another Jodi Picoult before and liked her style, so here goes another one!
As always, a gripping read by Jodi. I like her style, but I must say that the plot twist at the end, which is always coming, gets easier to predict with each book I read. I just know it will be unexpected and I know it is coming, so there you go.
I loved the part that plays in Alaska. I could picture it quite well, since I recently saw a documentary about the dogsled races over there. Very well written.
The book will be travelling further, as soon as I visit a meeting again or someone 'steals' it from my bookshelves.

Mee naar de meeting.
Took this home with me from the meeting in OBCZ-Westerpark. One of my daughters has been reading a few of Picoult's books and I hope she will like this one too.
Read by my daughter, I think more than once. She likes the Picoult novels. I have not read this, might do so as long as it is on my shelf. For now, it is available.
