How Green Was My Valley
2 journalers for this copy...
Have never been able to get into this enough to finish it. I don't think. I have plans for it. :o)
Sending out as a RABCK to MissTree - here's one off her wishlist. :o)
Squeeeee!!!!!!!! I was so thrilled to receive this in the mail today!!! Thank you so much, ArtisticAlias!!! I'm really looking forward to reading this!
My apologies for taking so long to read this! It took me a few attempts, through no fault of the book. How Green Was My Valley is wonderful! I'm sure it was just a matter of the right book at the wrong time.
My review:
This is the story of a Welsh coal-mining family at about the turn of the Twentieth Century as narrated by the youngest son, Huw Morgan.
I felt a great sympathy for Huw and his entire family, in spite of the males' proclivity for fighting - settling scores with their fists.
The story was beautiful and poignant. The author's gift of storytelling is obvious. This was a wonderful book altogether.
