Found the book at a railway station almost twp years ago. Took that long to get round to reading it as it appeared uninteresting and only started it when I had run out of reading material. Turned out to be very interesting; partly because it was about a real sporting giant who I had never heard of and her feats were quite impressive but also because the way she wrote, whilst not gripping, gave a fascinating insight on American sporting life and life cultural life generally in the decades either side of WWII.
Will release at Euston Station on Tuesday 27th May 2008
