A bold, brilliant, epic soap opera. Having never read Dickens before, I could instantly see why he is a hero to John Irving. Wonderful characters, great twists, and most surprisingly for me, a bizarre and ribald sense of humour, all intertwine to grab the reader's attention and hold it to the very end.

I agree...truly a classic!! I suppose I'm the only reader at the hotel?!? Don't worry though, I'll see that this book is fully submersed into this interesting manner of sharing literature, bookcrossing. I read the book about fifteen years ago and am looking forward to returning to the life of Pip.
