An impassioned novel about a black man's country under white man's law.
It is the story of the Zulu paster Stephen Kumalo and his son Absalom, set against the background of a land and a people riven by racial injustice.

Journal Entry 2 by lovemylife from Campbellsport, Wisconsin USA on Monday, December 11, 2006
On its way to the NZ BC convention.

Journal Entry 3 by Sherlockfan from Upper Hutt, Wellington Province New Zealand on Monday, March 12, 2007
The book finally arrived in Wellington New Zealand on 9 March having taken a short detour through Australia because of some vagaries of the International Mail system. Even though the Convention was over - and very successful it was too - all is not lost because we have a Wellington Meet-up this evening and I'll take the books along there where they are sure to find interested readers.

It is years since I first read this book and if I didn't have such a big Mt TBR I'd love to read it again.

Journal Entry 4 by discoverylover from Wellington City, Wellington Province New Zealand on Wednesday, March 14, 2007
I caught this last night at the meet up, as the bag sent for the convention only arrived on saturday, via australia!
