Excession
2 journalers for this copy...
One of Banks’s ambitious, well rounded novels of the far-future Culture. Not as good (IMO) as my favourite, Look to Windward, but a good read nonetheless. Perhaps a tad disappointing, soft, ending-wise.

From LotStreetWiz to read. I've read Use of Weapons which was well written if not comfortable. As one of the reviewers says, "Poetic, humorous, terrifying, sexy — the books of Iain M. Banks are all these things and more."
This is a "Culture" novel, so it's set in an interstellar society of the very distant future.

Currently reading. I started Excession several months ago but didn't get into it. This time, I perservered and found it interesting, amusing, and complex. The scene switches back and forth among several players in an interstellar mystery.
Back from Monado.
