This is about Charlotte,Harriet,Liz,Rebecca and Joyce -sometimes flatmates, sometimes best friends, sometimes the worst of enemies.

Picked up at tonight's meetup - looks like a good book to read on one of those braindead days when real literature is too much like hard work.

Surprisingly, not as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely not high literature, but more interesting than the average "chick-lit". The story of a group of friends (and the men in their lives), told from a mixture of viewpoints (including those of the predatory lothario and pining ex-boyfriend, which is unusual for this genre) and in a mish-mash of styles: first person, third person, second person, diary extracts... Sometimes all this chopping and changing gets a bit confusing, and you wish the author would just settle down and tell the story, but in general the technique works. And the happy ending is refreshingly free of knights in shining armour...

Easy read. A bit weird. I took this to the 2007 convention and left it on the steps of the Back Bencher Pub in Molesworth Street.
