Now I just love the way Annette Yates gets across the techniques employed in slow cooking, not just creating delicious recipes but writing them in such a way that you can easily recreate them. The list of recipes above may not entice you, but this book really is full of great recipes for soups / starters, sauces, main courses (fish, meat, poultry, game, vegetables) and desserts, as well as preserves and 'one-pot' cooks, being a meal in themself and needing no accompaniment. You can easily adapt any of the recipes to suit your taste, and Yates gives plenty of tips on how to do so.

This is my second favourite slow cooking recipe book (my favorite being Dianne Page's 'Slow Cooking properly explained' - only because it fits better on my shelf!) however I have learnt the art of slow cooking from both of them and still use both on a regular basis - I wouldn't be without them!
