This book is the follow-up to Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom, and is the 2nd book in the Kate Connor, Demon Hunter series.
Received through PaperBackSwap.com.

Book Description
What's a mother to do, when there are only so many hours in the day, and the fate of the world is in her hands?

Kate Conner was a retired demon hunter. Now, after fourteen years busting her tail as a suburban housewife, raising two kids, and supporting her husband's political ambitions, she's rejoined the workforce—and except for a few minions of evil, no one has a clue. She tries hard to keep her home and work lives separate—a good idea when your job involves random slaughter.

Between fending off demon attacks, trying to figure out why the mysterious new teacher at the high school seems so strangely familiar, and keeping a watchful eye on her daughter's growing infatuation with a surfer dude, Kate is the busiest—and most dangerous—soccer mom on the block...

The Usual Rules are included below for your reference
  • The above list order may be modified at any time to accommodate new participants or those who withdraw from the ring. So you should always refer to the list included in this journal entry before mailing the book after you've finished with it.
  • After messaging the next person in the list for their address, allow at least a week for a reply, to accommodate for vacations, etc. You may also want to send another PM if they don't reply the first time since BookCrossing PMs sometimes get lost in transit. An In Search Of (ISO) posts in one of the Forums also works well. And of course, remember to check their profile page in case they've posted news of their whereabouts, or an email address that is more reliable than BookCrossing PMs. If you still haven't heard from them after 1-1/2 to 2 weeks, skip them and move on to the next person in the list. (Also please note this in the journal entry so I don't think that person was accidentally overlooked.)
  • Please post a journal entry here (1) when you first receive the book so I know it's arrived at it's next destination, and (2) after you've finished reading it and are ready to send it along. Of course, please include your thoughts and opinions on the book itself too. :)
  • For courtesy sake, please try not to keep this book for more than 6–8 weeks as others are also waiting to read it. If you don't think you can get to the book in that timeframe, you can request to be skipped and/or added to the end of the ring instead. I don't mind if you need to keep it a bit longer, but just use your best judgment so as not to hold up the ring too long for everybody waiting behind you.
  • Late particpants are welcome—PM me if you'd like to join. Be sure to specify your shipping preferences, and I'll accommodate them if I can. If you're joining the ring after it's already started, know that your place in the list will be determined based on your geographic location in conjunction with what is best for the other participants. And it may not always be possible to honor requests to ship only within a particular region.
  • Please do not ask to join any of my rings if you're not a responsible and reliable BookCrosser. If you happen to see someone in the list who you believe is questionable, please let me know immediately. I try to research names I don't recognize and use a number of methods for spotting bad Crossers, but I certainly appreciate any additional info. (I'm hoping to curtail problems now by offering my rings only to Obsessors and Club VLAD members.)
  • Finally, I like to ask the US participants who are shipping overseas (thank you!) to consider all shipping options in addition to surface mail. Particularly with lightweight books weighing less than 16 ounces, Air Mail or Global Priority Mail (GPM) is sometimes a more efficient shipping option for certain countries, and certainly worth it to cut the shipping time down by a month or two. (This book is a trade paperback so it may not be efficient for anything other than surface, but do check anyway. Thanks!)

ENJOY AND HAPPY READING!

Received it yesterday, March 6th. I have 3 bookring books in front of it. I hope to read really fast this coming week or so. LOL Will journal more soon...

Ok, I have read both Carpe Demon (Book 1) & its sequel, California Demon, and I have to say that they were both really cute in my opinion. I will have to look and see if Julie Kenner has written anything else that may interest me, as I like her writing style.

Thanks to all involved in the sharing of this book! If anyone needs a copy of the first book, please let me know. I'll be happy to send it out directly or include it with the 2nd book.

Off to Rowenne in the next day or so.....

Journal Entry 5 by rowenne from Winlock, Washington USA on Tuesday, April 3, 2007
I opened the door to see if a friend had pulled up in the drive, and the post lady was right there with this book in her hand. I screamed when she startled me, and probably got the whole neighborhood's attention. LOL.

Yay! This was one fun read! There were a few spots where I actually yelled at the book though. I hate it when the protagonist doesn't listen to me.=P

Truthfully i was a little bored by this one for the first half of the book. It took me quite a while to get into in though by the time it ended i was very there and wanted to get my hands on the next book. Maybe i was just in a mood when i began it. I hope to get my grubby little hands on the next one in the next few months.

Sent this out to Needsun this morning.

Thank you NeedSun for the book and the lovely cat stickers on the package!

I haven't had a bookring for ages and now I have 2 with me! Luckily I have a few days off work to do some reading next week ;)

Journal Entry 11 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Sunday, June 3, 2007
I really enjoyed this second part. I think it was better than the first one but I am not sure why. Maybe the author has just got intot the whole thing more but the first book didn't impress me as much as this one.

I like how everything is going...it is great to see this combination of real life and paranormal world. It really makes the story alot more interesting. I am looking forward to the 3rd part and will be looking to see what else this author has on offer.

Will pass this onto Rianonne the next time I see her...which should be next week. Thanks for letting me take part in this one!

Journal Entry 12 by Rianonne from Wien Bezirk 22 - Donaustadt, Wien Austria on Friday, June 8, 2007
Received from Amberkatze today!
I'm reading a promised book for a VBB at the moment, but it won't be long till I will start this one :)

Journal Entry 13 by Rianonne from Wien Bezirk 22 - Donaustadt, Wien Austria on Wednesday, June 13, 2007
That was a very delightful read!
The second installment of this entertaining series is a bit deeper and more complex than the first. There’s still a good deal of not-too-graphic mayhem, injected with a good dose of humor and more plot development. Like the first, this is a fun read, perfect for summertime.
And of course it leaves me wanting to read more LOL

Journal Entry 14 by CandyDarling from Helsinki, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Wednesday, June 27, 2007
This arrived in the mail today, thank you! I'm a bit torn right now, should I make an exception and read the second book in this series before the first, as I'm on a bookring for Carpe Demon that has been stuck in Canada since February...

Journal Entry 15 by CandyDarling from Helsinki, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Thursday, August 14, 2008
I was a bit disappointed with the first book in this series, Carpe Demon, but I enjoyed California Demon a lot. I'm often a bit frustrated with Kate, but on the other hand she is a very likeable character. I was sucked into the story right away, and ended up reading the book really quickly. Now I just need to know what the deal with David Long is... I guess I need to get my hands on Demons Are Forever: Confessions of a Demon-hunting Soccer Mom and Deja Demon: The Days and Nights of a Demon-hunting Soccer Mom.

Thank you CheriePie for starting this bookray. I have toyjoy's address and will mail the book to her asap.

Just a short note, I'm finishing the book soon in a day or two, getting needmorezoloft's address.

Journal Entry 19 by toyjoy on Tuesday, March 10, 2009
Hey hey, the book is done! On a short note, when I start to read it, it was kinda of slow...., 'doesn't catch me', then I 'persisted on' with it, & found it quite amusing! So much for Katie & Mr David Long who's kinda behaves like her past ex-husband & to prevent the ending of the world. So much stuff to do, aren't we women amazing or what?! Still waiting for needmorezoloft's address.... For her reply...

Journal Entry 20 by toyjoy on Tuesday, March 10, 2009
needmorezoloft has updated that she wishes to skip this ray as she's busy. Contacting CheriePie for her wish to what to do with the book.

Journal Entry 22 by CheriePie from Campbell, California USA on Saturday, April 18, 2009
Arrived back home with me today. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of it along its worldly travels. :)

This will indeed still be going to needmorezoloft, who had originally asked to be skipped simply because she's got so much going on in her life right now. However, I reminded her that since she was last on this ray, and I'd put her there for a reason, there was no reason for her to feel rushed to get this book read in a certain time. So I'll be sending it off to her with another book or two that I owe her soon. :)

Joy returned this to me as she couldn't get NMZ's new mailing address. So I mailed this out to her myself along with an RABCK of Demons are Forever, the third book in the series. (And another little surprise.)

Note that the RAY is now ended and NMZ has no further obligation to pass along this book (unless she wants to). Enjoy!

I'm so sorry I haven't j/e'd yet. With moving and the no net, doing journal entries kinda got lost in the shuffle.

Thanks so much Cherie!!! *hugs*
