Hello again,
this book was a good read. I just found it in a little bookshelf at the "Schöne Aussichten" (Cafe in Tübingen) and because i hadn't anything to read i took it with me.
We (the readers) are following HENRY CHINASKI from his childhooddays into highschool (acne and many dismissals) to become a very angry young man and finally "evolve" into an alcoholic.
Henry isn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth. The marriage of his parents isn't honey and sugar all the time. His father is beating him and he hasn't many friends (don't talk about girls).
With this book Bukowski shows us how Henry Chinaski becomes the hardboiled, small tempered guy we know from his previous book. We see a problematic youth and on the same time Bukowski show us backyard America of the little people.
I had a great time to read it (don't expect a Happy End) and i hope so will you.
Yours Melvin Smiley ;)

So long Melvin Smiley
I got the book from a very good friend of mine and brought it to Buenos Aires, just like he expected me to.I really like the idea of these "travelling books". I am still reading the book.. which I totally like so far. I plan to release it.. but I still haven't decided where or to whom.
I finally got to read all of Chinaski´s agitated life... It was a good book.. the author really made me get in Henry´s skin... I actually end up hating his father!
I am about to release the book.. at the library of my Uni (Universidad Catolica Argentina)... I hope to hear from the reader soon!
I will release the book today again
