Finished this last night. The third book in the series and I am quite enjoying them. Darren seems to be maturing a little and the story lines are great. They keep your attention and make you want to keep reading. One of the reasons that I really enjoy teen fiction is because it is such a quick easy read usually. Starting on #4 now!!!

Thanks for sharing Sand. I will send this on to Cherie as soon as I get her mailing address.

I'm enjoying this series. Unlike another young adult series I'm currently reading, the plot isn't super simple, though it does move along fairly swiftly.

In this installment, Darren and Mr. Crepsley have left the Cirque for what is initially an unknown reason to Darren after a mysterious visit from one of the Vampire Generals. Mr. Crepsley allows Darren to take his friend Evra, the snake boy from the Cirque, along with them. Once they reach the city, they discover there's been a series of murders occurring in the area. Because the blood was drained from the victims, Evra and Darren immediately suspect Mr. Crepsley of the crimes... especially since he's been going out every night and keeping secrets from them. As they attempt to track down a killer, Darren also meets his first girlfriend and has his first kiss. Evra's life is put in danger and Darren is asked to make some difficult choices.

This will be heading to shaunesay shortly. It was originally pulled from the Paranormal Virtual Bookbox by CdnBlueRose, who later won the first 6 books of this series in the Series swap, so she no longer needed it, and with her okay, it's going to shaunie instead. Alternately, I'm reserving book 7 for her. after it's been to Wendy first. (I'd forgotten Wendy didn't read #7 and I'd already promised it to her first.) Wendy no longer needs books 7.

Thanks so much you all! I have 1-4 now waiting for me, it seems everyone is enjoying these so I'm looking forward to them too! I just am having a hard time picking up #1 because my copy has a huge spider on the front, and on every chapter heading! EEK! Why couldn't it have been a snake, or a bat? Not a tarantula! ;)

Picked up at KC UnCon over the weekend of October 23-25, 2009.

Snagged this from the book buffet. Looks like a fun read!

EDIT: 12/04/10 - Read this one and number 4, and enjoyed them quite well. Hanging on to them for a bit so my 12 year old son can read them, too.
