A tongue-in-cheek handbook for dealing with the inevitable revolt of artificial intelligence.

The Briefing section ends thus: "You probably found [this book] in the humor section. Let's just hope that is where it belongs."

Indeed. Down, Aibo! Bad boy!

Although intended as humor, this book does have a serious side - explaining state-of-the-art robotics, how robots function and move, and how they interact with their environment. The tips on what to do in case Asimo goes bad are vehicles for explaining robotic logic, senses, movement, and vulnerabilities. You don't have to know squat about engineering or computer programming to get a lot out of this amusing book.

Since it is written in a humorous vein, it does not cater to technophobia, but rather assures us that, if we humans are careful and vigilant, we can remain in control.

For now.

Sorry for the delay. I am stuck right now depending on library computers. This book was okay but nothing like what I expected. Mailing off to the next on the list today.

Journal Entry 6 by iamagirldork on Monday, November 13, 2006
Arrived safe today. This book looks hysterical!

11/20/2006 - Finished and have PMd sweetsillysue for her address. I found it mildly amusing, but not nearly as funny as I thought it would be. Kind of disappointing.

11/24/2006 - Still waiting for sweetsillysue to send me her address. PMd her again. Hopefully it is going through.

11/30/2006 - Got her address a couple days ago. Sorry I'm behind on my mailings. Will go to the post office tomorrow unless I'm snowed in.

It was interesting, but not as entertaining as I hoped it to be.
Mailed it out today. Sorry I had it for so long.

Journal Entry 10 by Caridad from Miami, Florida USA on Saturday, February 10, 2007
I found it very entertaining and educational. In fact, I may buy a copy or two as gifts for some people I know who would get a kick out of this! What I am worried about now are the nightmares this information will create in my head.

PMed opinicus when I received it and put it in the mail. Have fun!

The funniest and most useful book I've read lately. I love that it's written in a humorous style as I was able to actually memorize large portions of it if not all as it was easy to read, yet technical. I would recommend this book to anyone who owns anything with a microchip.
BTW the entry above me is me, I forgot to log in. LOL! Thanx Cyberkedi for making this available!
