Arrived quickly and in good shape today - hopefully I will get to read it
over the weekend. First bookring and first experience with
the writer - exciting!
Update. Jan 10.
Still haven't found the time to read it
but will do my best this week.
Regardless I will send it out in a few days.
Update Jan 27.
Sorry for the delay, but I am finally done
and will be sending the book out today.

Jan 28.
The book is now on its way to Spain but I just wanted to add
that it was utterly enjoyable. Austen and Rock me Amadeus melted
together, great characters and an extra bonus knowing that some
aspects of the story had some bases in history.

A delightful novel; though I must confess it took me some time to finish it, I couldn't put it down.
Very well written, it takes us through the loves and times of Mozart and the four Weber sisters (including Constance, whom he ultimately married, see pic) . A very well documented piece, it is easy to picture all characters in their historic time and setting.
I am looking forward to holidays in Prague, so this became an extra bonus for me.
Thanks for sharing this, Teggers; I have received no answer from Virgulina or Junequeenslad, but Grubsneerg answered right away, and the book is on its way to her...

This arrived in my mailbox today—a welcome surprise on this rainy summer day! Thank you for sending, Bookworm-lady, and for the lovely postcard. I'll be sure to add another when I'm finished reading.
This was a very interesting trip back in time to Germany and Austria of the 1770s. The characters and the settings were so easy for me to imagine. I don't know if it's because the author wrote them so well or if I have watched the movie "Amadeus" so many times. It's probably a mixture of both. I enjoyed the visit with Mozart and the Weber sisters, and hope to visit the actual locales in person someday soon.
Thank you for sharing, teggers, and for sending, Bookworm-lady! I have PMed ladyofunicorns for her address, so the book can continue its journey.

No response to my PMs by ladyofunicorns, and as it looks like loads of people are looking for her in the forums, I don't expect one.
I'll offer this as a ray and see where it goes from here!

And it's off! Happy travels, little book!
The book arrived safely in a lovely reusable bookcrossing envelope! I've been waiting on it for the past week, and every time I had a package in my mail slot I was sure it was going to be this one, but third time was the charm. I'm just finishing another book now but there are no other rings left before it, so I'll be able to get to this on on the weekend.
I really enjoyed this book, thank you for sharing!
I find it really fascinating to read about the lives of the musical grand masters. It's the small things like learning who inspired Mozart to write some of the most beautiful music for the human voice that really gets to me. It was interesting how the author compared Aloysia and Josefa's voices but how the impressions of that comparison were turned upside down when you realized which sister not just sang the role of the Queen of the Night, but whose voice inspired it. I'm off to listen to Diana Damrau do the role justice again!

Found it in my mailbox on Thanksgiving day. An appropriate Thanksgiving find for a reader, don't you think. I have several in front of this, but will get to it as soon as possible. Thanks to all for sending it on.
I tried this book and, though well written, found that it was too light for my current reading taste. I'm sending it on today to KimKimKim in the hopes she enjoys it more.

This arrived yesterday - I'm in the middle of a book now, will start this as soon as I finish. I should have this back out in the mail in a week or so.
A big thank you to Secretariat for the postcard!
Update 2/4 - Finally had a chance to sit down and read this book. I found it quite enjoyable, I wish it didn't end quite so soon. It was great reading at the end all the historical facts. I have the address for the next person on the list and will get it mailed out on Monay. Thank you again for allowing me to join this ray.

Recieved in the mail from KimKimKim yesterday. Currently in the middle of 2 books, but they are going really fast, so hope to be able to start this one on Monday or so. Looking forward to it, as the descriptions remind of a Jane Austen novel, which I love.
Finished this one last night and overall I quite enjoyed it. It did have a definite Jane-Austen-comedy-of-manners feel to it, though it included descriptions of physical intimacies which Austen would only have alluded to. The story certainly felt as though it were real, to the point where you wonder how much was taken from diaries and biographies and how much from the author's imagination. One wonders that the Weber girls and Mozart were as sane as they were, considering the level of control and manipulation exercised by Mrs. Weber and Mozart's parents.
I did find the descriptions of the places to be enchanting, partly because I have been to Mozart's home in Salzburg and have spent a day or so in Vienna -- Cowell captured the atmosphere of those cities very well, an atmosphere that persists today (perhaps more so in Salzburg, because of deliberate attempts to freeze the old city in time).
Have received Queebers address by PM, so should be in the mail tomorrow.
