What a great book! Truly capturing and a bit disturbing. I bought it thinking it would be a kind of love story, so the plot came as a real surprise. It made me think a lot about the consequences of... Well, I won't say it, in order not to spoil it for future readers.
It was great to discover what was going on bit by bit. It reminded me a bit of Margaret Atwood's "Handmaid Tale".
Very nice fiction, which could eventually become reality.
The book is very well written. I specially liked to witness the evolution of the relationship between Kathy, Tommy and Ruth, which truly captures some minor details that only exist in long and close relationships with someone you know since you were a child.
Very good reading, now available to be shared.

Offered in my 2nd BC Anniversary RABCK to Haugtussa. I hope you like it! It's a great book!
What a brilliant surprise!
I just got back from London, and this book was waiting for me!
Obrigada, Frangipani04.

I rally enjoyed this book, and as Frangipani04 mentioned it did remind me of The Handmaid's Tale. Science fiction light!
I studied Biotechnology way back, and the consept of this book actually frightened me! Disturbing thought. I loved to follow the interwoven lives of the three friends, how they didn't seem to cope properly on their own, but then again had a tendency to mess things up for each other.
The book is actually travelling on (as a surprise RABCK) to the USA with the above mentioned Atwood's novel!

What a surpise!!! Two books in one and this is on my wish list!
Thank you so much - I am looking forward to reading it...
The package arrived damaged, but I think I received all of the contents!

Haugtussa, thanks so much for passing this book on to me. I finally read it and I wish I had read it sooner! It was a real page turner. It didn't remind me so much of the Handmaid's tale as it did of a movie I saw once with ewan macgregor - I think it was called "The Island".
Definitely a timely topic as well. Feel like someday soon we are going to hear about a situation like this!
I am going to pass this on to another person reading the 1001 list (the book was on her wishlist too!)

I can't believe it took me so long to read this one. I loved it. I've recommended to so many people since reading it. I do wonder if this will become a reality someday. I don't want to give too much away because not knowing much about the book made the story even more enjoyable for me.
The conversation with Madame at the end of the book still pops in my head every time I see or hear about this book. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a very long time.
