I liked the first in the series 'Shakespeare's Landlord' and have now got hold of this book too! This is the 5th in the series and once I get hold of a copy of the 2nd in the series (it isn't for sale :/) and then read the 3rd & 4th in the series, I will read this one.

I will trade/relay or release this when I am done with it.

Journal Entry 2 by Amberkatze from Wien Bezirk 10 - Favoriten, Wien Austria on Sunday, June 10, 2007
This wasn't the best book in the series but seeing as it is the last in the series I think Charlaine Harris felt the need to tie up things and give Lily one more book. It was great to catch up with Shakespeare and the people living there and I will miss it.

So it is finally over. The last 'Lily Bard' book and no hope of another one (according to Harris's FAQ on her website). I hope they will make some more cameo appearances in her other books though...they already appeared in 'Definitely Dead'. I love this author and I will be reading all these books again in the future.

This book will be going on a trip as a Bookring. It will be part of a Book sprial for the whole series. This is book number 5 and is the last book in the Lily Bard series!

------------------------------

Please make a journal entry as soon as you recieve the book and also when you send it to the next person. Then we know where the book is!

Please try and read and send this book on within a month. If you need longer please make a new journal so we know the book is still in action!

When you are finished with the book please PM the next person on the list and ask for their address so you can send it on to them!

I would appreciate a PM from any participant who wants to leave the ring or be skipped for any reason. Please do not leave it to the last minute.

Also let us know what you thought of the book but don't give too much away!

The order may change to accommodate for the postal preferences of the ring members.
Lastly if you have nicer bookcrossing labels or stickers then decorate the book a little! Also stick a postcard from your country in with a message! Could be fun :)

Aw - the last Lily Bard mystery. I shall miss her and the many varied inhabitants of Shakespeare, AK. Lily may have arrived there trying to lead a quiet life, but the fates seem determined she has not! Despite facing another corpse, councelling for her emotional troubles and once again being held up as a suspect in the murder, Lily has Jack living with her, she is training to be a PI herself and still holds a cleaning job down! The woman is amazing - my hat is off to her!
Despite experiencing more personal tragedy, at least the author, Ms Harris, ties all the loose ends up for us with this story. As Amberkatze says, it's not a strong a plot as the 4 previous novels, but Ms Harris obviously cares enough about her characters to let them have some kind of happy ending. So rare in life!
Thanks for hosting this bookspiral Amberkatze, I've enjoyed it very much.
Posted off to Sunlightbub today - though I practically had to mug the collection driver to make sure it caught the only post of a Saturday!

I love this series and I'm so looking forward to reading these.

Ahhh... the last one in the series. Although it doesn't seem likely that Charlaine Harris will be writing another one soon -- apparently her writing schedule is filled for the next three years -- let's hope that Lily Bard has more cameo appearances, or maybe a possible Book 6 in the future! I agree with the previous journal entries that the plot in this one is a little weak, and IMO, a little loopy. I thought it started out well and it seemed like it would be an exciting one to watch develop, but the ending of the case itself was clumsy and unsatisfying. However, the overall ending was enough to keep me happy with the happily-ever-after setting (with lots of cleaning involved) for Lily and Jack, and for most of the other supporting characters of Shakespeare. Always a sucker for happy endings! Thanks Amberkatze for sharing these books, I'll get CheriePie's address and get these moving soon!

This was another good mystery featuring housecleaner/karate expert Lily Bard. I liked how she and Jack worked together as private investigators to figure out the mystery stalker/murderer.

Well, as many before me have stated, the plot of this one wasn't the best of the series, but the 'happy ending' compensates for that! I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the inhabitants of Shakespeare (thank you, Amberkatze!) and I hope there is a book six somewhere in Ms. Harris' writing future...I may just have to give the TeaGarden series of hers a go, as well!

As explorer has asked to be skipped (she has already read these), I have recieved Cherie's addy, and will send these out on my next PO run. *mailed to CheriePie 1/31

arrived today with trollop. will get to these as soon as I can.

The fifth and final installment in the Lily Bard series wraps up Lily's story quite nicely.

In addition to finally settling down with Jack, Lily has decided to face her past and begin attending group therapy sessions. Of course, these sessions become the scene for yet another murder in cozy little Shakespeare. And as usual, Lily is right smack in the middle of the action.

As others have said, this wasn't the best in the series. I think some of that was because there weren't any loose ends to leave you craving the next book. But with Lily's settling down and everything, it did have a hint of finality to it. I for one am sorry to see her go... though I hear she may be making cameo appearances in some of Charlaine Harris's other books from time to time. :)

Mailed Lily Bard books 4 and 5 to innae on 8/26/08 via Media Mail.

Journal Entry 21 by winginnaewing from Aurora, Colorado USA on Tuesday, September 16, 2008
I liked this one best out of the three I have read. And I am sad that we are done now...Maybe Charlaine will decide she needs to write some more Shakespeare's eventually?? I think this one was more serious than the first and fourth...dealing a lot more with Lily's past.

I have WelshHelen's address and will be mailing this (along with Trollop) out soon!

Journal Entry 22 by winginnaewing from Aurora, Colorado USA on Tuesday, September 16, 2008
I was just reading this thread, and I have already done a little repair work on Counselor (a bit of tape on the cover). I am really hoping Amberkatze is okay with this, and in the future I promise to ask. :-)

Another great installment in the Lily Bard series which I enjoyed even more than Shakespeare's Trollop. I was kept guessing until very near the end and I kept changing my mind about who the culprit was! This was quite an emotional ride for Lily and Jack which I thought was well-written and sympathetic (hope that isn't giving too much away!)

I've realised that I haven't read Shakespeare's Christmas yet so I still have that to look forward to but I'm disappointed that Harris has no plans to write more Lily books.

Thanks for sharing - again! - Amberkatze. I've got wyvernfriend's address and will get both books in the post to her in the next few days.

Journal Entry 27 by wyvernfriend from Lucan, Co. Dublin Ireland on Sunday, February 1, 2009
Lily is getting more and more involved with Jack and his business, and finally goes to some counselling to deal with some of her issues to do with her kidnapping and rape when she was younger. Things get complicated when one of her fellow members is killed.

It's interesting, the characters do develop but it is quite slow.

Enjoyed this, as the rest of the series too. Quite a lot happening to Lily, so the mystery didn't seem like the main thing in this book - I liked it, the personal life of main characters is always so interesting!
