You completely did not have to buy a new copy for me! I would certainly have understood if it had been sent to someone else. All the same, I'm so very glad you did. I received the book two days ago and read it in a day. It was fascinating and poignant and not at all what I was expecting. I think the only thing that reduced my pleasure in this gem was the interview at the end where Ms. Morrison talks about its failings. I disagreed with some of what she was quoted as saying, and felt that it was a very successful exploration although not perhaps as racial as she intended. It seemed that there was so much of which she wrote that was universal to children and their experiences - regardless of color and finances many children long to look different or to have different families or lives. I think it is that theme in the book which speaks to so many. I will probably relase this one shortly, but I want to make sure it's thoroughly labelled before I let it out on its own! Thank you so much.
