This was one of several books found in a bag in the recesses of the laundry room closet. It is imagined that someone brought them to mom when she was sick, since she likes mysteries generally. (Quite a mysterious scenario in and of itself, no?) However, she didn't get around to reading any of them, and she said she doesn't really want to read them since many are quite old. So she has given me permission to bookcross them--- whoo hoo!!! :)

From the back: "Even Goa, a sleepy beach community along India's "Ganja" coast, cannot escape the creeping reach of corruption. As voracious developers gear up to turn Goa into a moneymaking machine, lawyer George Sansi is pressured to dig up evidence on the man who stands to steal the most: the Minister for Economic Development, Rajiv Banerjee. Most of the burned-out inhabitants of Goa seem blissfully unaware of the coming changes--- until the stragled body of a child is found floating in the waves, shattering even the aging Western hippies' view of Goa as an innocent paradise."
