The pilot's wife
2 journalers for this copy...
I enjoyed this book much more than I did the first one (When or Where) I read by the same author. The main character, a pilot's wife, finds out her husband's life was not what it seemed, after his plane crashes killing himself and 103 passengers. Throughout the book she has to deal with the grief of not only losing her husband due to his death, but also the grief of discovering he was not who she thought he was; he had a whole secret life she knew nothing about. The media is clammering at her gate for the story of the crash and her teenage daughter is coping with the death of her father.
I liked this story and found the book interesting throughout.

I just caught this one today. I was being sent out to get cheese coneys for my coworker while she was doing a perm, and I'm glad I did. =)
It's now on my TBR Pile, and I'll probably re-release it after I read it.

BACK COVER: "Until now, Kathryn Lyons's life has been peaceful if unextraordinary: a satisfying job teaching high school in the New England mill town of her childhood; a picture-perfect home by the ocean; a precocious, independent-minded fifteen-year-old daughter; and a happy marriage whose occasional dull passages she attributes to the unavoidable deadening of time. As a pilot's wife, Kathryn has learned to expect both intense exhilaration and long periods alone — but nothing has prepared her for the late-night knock that lets her know her husband has died in a crash. As Kathryn struggles with her grief, she descends into a maelstrom of publicity stirred up by the modern hunger for the details of tragedy. Even before the plane is located in waters off the Irish coast, the relentless scrutiny of her husband's life begins to bring a bizarre personal mystery into focus. Could there be any truth to the increasingly disturbing rumors that he had a secret life?"
I LOVED this book, though I didn't really get the ending. I'm passing it on to my mother, then fireandicefae, and then it'll probably be put out in the wild again (up to fae).
