The Jodie Foster/Barbara Harris movie was pretty faithful to the book, while at the same time being quite different. How, you ask? The book is narrated by Annabel, and is all from her perspective. we only find out how her mother spent her day, in Annabel's body, at the end of the book, after she comes home and Annabel learns how her day was.

Also, did you know that there have actually been FOUR movie versions? In addition to the original 1976 movie, and the Lindsay Lohan/Jamie Lee Curtis 2003 version, in 1999 Disney gave us a version starring Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffman, and in 2018 it was remade yet again with Heidi Blickenstaff and Cozi Zuehlsdorff (neither of whom I've ever even heard of).

I've started a collection of books for my grandkids, so this is going into that collection. They're young still, 4, 3 and 2, but hopefully they will be readers when they're older!
