This was a quick, enjoyable summer read. I liked the things Stargirl did to make the world a happier place...reading this made me think that even those of us that do nice things for others could still do more.

Since magickdawn is no longer interested, I've reserved this for the Well-Travelled Wild Release Challenge, maybe its wild release will brighten someone's day like is has mine. Stargirl would like that. ;)

Wow, great book. I'm not a teen book reader, but I did this one for a challenge. Gosh, I'm glad I did. I liked Star-girl. I would have never been this open in high school, but I embrace the spirit that made her live for others and I would probably have been her friend. I had a couple friends that were out of the norm, like me. ;-D I've been that way all my life. I think my mother trained it into the girls in my family. "Anticipate others needs. Look around, see what needs to done and do it." "Little words of kindness, little deeds of love, make this world an eden like the heaven above." I heard those things every day and grew up believing them. In some ways it's rewarding, but in the world we live in you burn out quickly trying to make others happy. I'd love to see how Stargirl grew up. I hope Leo does it right this time when she gives him a 2nd chance. You know she's gonna.

RELEASE NOTES:

Mailing out to emmagoldmanzine as part of a mini-bookray to be wild released by kamala in hawaii for the Well Travelled Wild Release Challenge.

Received the book today. I can't wait to read it. My sister says it's a must read, so I'm excited to have this chance to read it. I plan on finishing it by this weekend and sending it to it's next stop. Also, thanks so much to KK for the adorable bookmark, can never have too many of those!!!

A long wait at the doctor's office and a subway ride gave me the chance to read this book. It was a great read. I've read other books by Spinelli and he does a wonderful job of pulling the reader into the world of the narrator. I felt as though Leo was letting us glimpse into his world for a view of Stargirl. That it was not Stargirl telling the story, but her boyfriend (and at times a conflicted one at that), an "outsider" to her way of being in the world, allowed for a greater understanding of what it meant to be Stargirl. A profound analysis on many things, not the list of which the idea of group think and cultural norms.

Thanks for allowing me the read. I enjoyed it immensely.

Off to supersunshine to enjoy (hopefully)
