Duplicate copy of one of my favourite mysteries bought for bookcrossing purposes. This is a fantastic book - couldn't put it down. Am hopefully going to have a go at a bookring with this one.

Synopsis: Shocked by his brother's death, Jack McEvoy, crime reporter, investigates a surprising rise in police suicides. A disturbing pattern of coincidences suggests that a cop-killer is choosing his victims with terrible care. Coast-to-coast Jack follows a trail of unusual "suicide notes." He may be on to the story of a lifetime but, scarier still, "the Poet" knows that Jack is on his trail.

Found this slow going at first but once the main character was "inside" the FBI I was hooked. Not read any Michael Connolly before but will definitely try another of his offerings. Once I get the mailing address it will be on it's way to AFIR.
Tanamo

Firstly my apologies for holding on to this book for sooooo long. However I have now read it and PM'd the next in line for their address.

I have really enjoyed this book. My first Michael Connolly but definitely not my last. I have found it a welcome relief after reading some quite heavy and then wierd stuff recently and found it nicely compelling. I didn't find the twists of the story very surprising as I expected several of them but all in all a good thriller with an interesting angle. I definitely wouldn't have the imagination to write something like this.

Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely way to cap off a great long weekend away. I've been wanting to read this book ever since I read The Narrows as it refers back to events in it. I am really looking forward to this read! Thank you for allowing me to be part of this ring.

Wow! What a great read, so good I just have to give it a perfect ten even though it isn't a Harry Bosch story! I was a bit disappointed that I figured out who the fox in the henhouse was well before Jack but then I remembered that I'd already read City of Bones so of course I knew the name! I've three other Michael Connelly's to read now so I'm off to read Trunk Music just as soon as I get my housework done!

I'll be posting the book on to Rillaith just as soon as they respond to my PM.

Very good book - the cause of a couple of late nights! Jack McEvoy is a believable character that you can really get along with. Thank you for sending him out - according to the postcard from notingnothing, I am to pass him on rather than send him home.

Cheers!
