Hardback.
"Lidi and Sarah are twins: fifteen years old and going to their first Harvest supper as proper women - or so they feel. They have the dark read hair of their great-aunt Jude, and Lidi at least has inherited her yearning for a life of passion and freedom. Sarah, a lady'd-maid, hankers after comfort, but she too has the Nugent blood - an inborn scorn of convention which will lead her into trouble.
Their story is one of girls awakening to womanhood in the strife-torn years of the nineteenth century."
