Picked this up yesterday as the blurb looked quite interesting. Completely new to Carol Shields though and I like her style from what i have read. I'm still in the midst of the first few chapters and I'm hopeing that the plot starts it's drive soon. The central character makes references to Margaret Atwood who is one of my favourite writers. The book (so far)makes me think of Atwood's much ignored masterpiece 'Surfacing' in its use of the first person narrative.
