Quite possibly the best book I'll read this year-I can't see anything else coming close. This is the second copy I've had of this. The first one I've lent to people at work and this one I'm going to send out on a ray. I've always had an interest in Tudor history, and I live near Hever Castle where a lot of the story takes place, but I think I'd have enjoyed the story even if I didn't. Everyone I know who has read this book has really enjoyed it.

arrived in today's mail, along with another ring book. LOL--when it rains, it pours! This being the longer by at least 200 pages, will be the last read. I am really looking forward to it, and will read asap.

Wow--once I started this was an "I-can't-bear-to-put-it-down" book! Fell asleep reading in bed, and would wake up and read some more before even getting up to put the kettle on! Fabulous! Aside from the ending--Anne's at least, I have no idea how accurate or not this is. (oh, and of course the breaking away from Rome--so much a piece of common knowledge I didn't even think of that) Your part of the world, Miss-R, since you do know something of Tudor history, are many of the events factual? Or do we even know? What about character? I don't remember "Anne of A Thousand Days" being such a raging bitch. But then, It's been years since I read that, and my memory is beginning to resemble a steel sieve.

I shall definately have to look for some more Gregory to read, as well as more of the Tudor era.

I just got the book in the mail last night. I'm already half way through it! This is one of the best books I've read this year so far. I can't put it down, But I guess I will have to to go to meetup tonight! I should be done tomorrow and I will pm the next on the list soon.

One of the best books I've read so far. However, I felt the ending was a little boring because of its predictability.(at least if you rememmber anything from history class it is) I will e-mail next on the list.

Just got this book the other day. Cant wait to start it. I have never read anything like this before so I am excited to delve into something new.

I know I will regret this, but I just have soooo many books to read and havent been able to get to this one. I feel horrible so I have pm'd next in line and will ship the book out this week if I get her addy soon.
