RELEASE NOTES:
I resisted reading this when it first came out purely because of the hype - I think I'm ready to give it a go now!
Well, I'm sorry it took me a lot longer to get around to than I thought it would. It was a fairly easy, if irritating, read. The writing was poor and inconsistent (e.g. the main character would be lying down, and then it would say someone came over to where he was standing). The concepts themselves were interesting, but really had to be written as an allegory because there was nothing to substantiate them. I was shocked to see both this book and others by the same author listed as 'non-fiction' by the publishers! I remember people being really excited about this book when it first came out - maybe they thought it really was non-fiction?
Anyway, some interesting ideas, and useful suggestions about how to look at relationships with other people, but poor writing and lack of background facts and information let it down for me.
