I loved this book. A very interesting pacy search that keeps you hooked, with the thread running through, always linking to the past - giving a fantastic history at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyable.

RELEASE NOTES:

Am passing this one to Korky who has put many good books my way. Hope you enjoy it too.

Thanks retromonkey, I'll add it to my TBR pile or see if my mum wants to read it first.

I can't believe how long this has been next to my mum's bed - unread!
Anyway, took it on holiday which gave me a chance to get stuck into a longer read. I'm glad I only took a few days to read this as there were lots of characters and places to remember and I think I would have lost the thread if I'd just been reading a little bit at a time over a longer time frame.
I enjoyed this adventure/thriller although you do have to suspend disbelief a bit. A shame that the leading lady Alice was a bit of a dipstick too so I didn't feel that sorry for her when she got into scrapes. However it didn't spoil my overall enjoyment and I think this is a great holiday read.

Passed to my dad who managed to get halfway through during the holiday, let's see how long it takes him to finish.

I am sure that there is a great book to be written about the Cathars and the Inquisition, sadly I don't think this is it. A book that is 200 pages too long with unsympathetic characters detracts from the fascinating historical setting. I am also surprised that an airhead model can write at all (hee hee).

Passing back to Korky's mum to see if she's going to give it a go now.

I found this rather complicated in terms of people - so many characters who''s names began with an "A"! The ending was a bit unbelievable but overall I found it enjoyable and interesting.
