'The sea state is very rough and the waves huge,
Spirit is just being lost between the height of each one.
They must be fifty feet or more...'
When Lisa Clayton sailed into port of Dartmouth in her yacht, SPIRIT, in June 1995, she also entered the record books - as the first woman to make a full circumnavigation around the world single-handed, non-stop and unassisted.
Her epic voyage lasted 285 days, and through her daily logs Lisa tells of her day to day batttle for survival, her triumphs and set-backs, and of the storms which almost cost her life.
This is the story of one woman's extraordinary courage and endurance on the face of overwhelming odds.
