I find all well-written memoirs intriguing. This one is perhaps not irresistibly compelling, but it's well worth reading, especially for anyone with a special interest in "the rise and fall of Silicon Valley..."
Sent to another California bookcrosser.
I received this book today. I plan to read it after the holidays, then pass it on to my boyfriend's sister, who works for the city of Sunnyvale. Neat way to introduce her to bookcrossing. :)
It took a while for this to reach the top of my queue, but I do believe it was worth the wait. I found it -- sycamore is right -- not compelling exactly, but an interesting read. It's a very well written account of one family's struggle with the ascent of the dynasty that is Silicon Valley. Makes me wonder -- in the dot-bust, what the author thinks of his hometown today. Thanks for sharing... I think I'll take this one to the next bay area BX meetup.
