Having read the Furies of Claderon, I am keen to try another of Jim Butcher's books, so Suedo has lent me this one (again). Yes......... I have liked it so much that I have now borrowed several more of this series. Refreshing to meet a character who treats magic differently. Maybe a little too much 'everyone is trying to kill me' but most enjoyable all the same. Thanks Sue

This book arrived here last week. I want to thank you so much shnedwards. This book has been on my wishlist for so long and I haven't had the chance to acquire it yet, because of big wishlists, prices and availability. I'm hoping this book will start me on a new series in a genre I've just discovered and have enjoyed so far.

Just finished this one. I liked the story, but sometimes it was a bit slow going. It reminded me of the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. I liked the magic elements in this one, such as the Sight and the soulgazing. I'd like more of that.

Received safely. I have read this before but it's been 20 years or more. I really enjoyed this series and, although it wasn't perfect, I also liked the 1-season TV series based on the books.
I'll give it a re-read with pleasure before passing it on.

A bit more boom-kapow action than I prefer but the wry humor is just up my alley. And since I'm comfortable with the series, it was a fairly quick read - just right for a break between other things.

I'm off work at the moment so getting lots of reading done. I wolfed this one down yesterday. Like Hobbit I've read this before but long enough ago that I couldn't remember all the details. It was a good fun read, just what I am wanting at the moment. I'm going to be checking my local library for the others in the series. Thanks for reminding me about this one gaboyd!
