Ethan Frome

Pre-numbered label used for registration. This is a classic American tale, a story of love, repression, and tragedy. If only Ethan had possessed the courage to run away and live with his love, rather than try to die with her ...
Of course, if Ethan was French, he'd simply have made her his mistress, and they'd probably all live happily ever after.

I came home from a rather trying couple of days out to find this waiting for me. Ah, I love surprises! Why has annulla chosen this particular one? I hope I shall soon know why :) Thanks annulla!
A dramatic tale with a ending that is announced from the first page; I liked the way the author depicted the characters, they were very realistic; not your usual romasntic book, yet at the same time very romantic. You see the characters in the book struggle under their sad destiny, knowing it's not going to get any better, and it fills your heart with sorrow and compassion.
Thank you, Annulla!
