I have to say that although it's definately fun and easy to read, I found this book a bit disappointing - a very unusual and empowered female lead character becomes increasingly conventional (to my mind) as the book progresses, while the storyline becomes a bit silly. HAving said that, I read this for a book club and several of the other members really liked it, so please don't just take my word for it! It is definately a fun book, and often quite funny (apparently a very Danish sense of humour, for any London Danes out there)

for a quick plot summary (or at least the start of one), the blurb on the back starts "charlotte supports herself and her lumpen sidekick, fru schleswif, as a prostitute in fin-de-siecle Copenhagen. But the course of harlotry never runs smooth, and Charlotte's life is altered irrevocable when, one hard winter, she stumbles on an exciting new source of income..."

RELEASE NOTES:

This book is in a plastic bag (to protect from the elements on this, its first adventure :) ) propped up in one of the enclaves furthest along the north dulwich platform away from the stairs (about 5 enclaves or so before the absolute end of the platform, in the same enclave as some sort of wait high metal marker in yellow-tan). It's on the southbound platform - that is, the platform on the right as you enter the station.
It has a friend (what a carve up) in roughly the same place on the facing platform!
