Arrived safe and sound already. Foxy737 has already pre-empted me and pmed me with their address so as soon as I figure out what I want to take out and replace with, the box will be underway again. I've already snaffled a chocolate chick and a rabbit though - so much for my visit to the gym today! :) Thanks Raeliz64!

Journal Entry 5 by wubbaducky from not specified, not specified not specified on Saturday, April 15, 2006
Right, the books I'm snaffling from the box are:
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
Brother of the more famous Jack by Barbara Trapido
Singling out the Couples by Stella Duffy
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

I will be replacing these with:
Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
Hotel du Lac by Anita Brookner
Small Gods by Terry Pratchett

And I've also added some mini chocolate eggs to the sweetie pile

Sent the box out today (18th April). Thanks for arranging this box - it's been fun!

Journal Entry 6 by foxy737 from Westgate on Sea, Kent United Kingdom on Thursday, April 20, 2006

thanks for organising raeliz64 will move on to caffcaff in near future over coffee meet up.

Journal Entry 7 by foxy737 from Westgate on Sea, Kent United Kingdom on Saturday, April 22, 2006
right decided to take out quite a few. since one of the ones i want to put back in is a large hardback book i have changed the box (needed to be deeper shape box) and added a few extras.
okay i have taken out:
tom's midnight garden by philippa pearce
skallagrigg by william horwood
getting rid of bradley by jennifer cruise
love forty by sue limb
dime magic store by kelley armstrong
pride and prejudice by jane austen

i make that six books out, so going into new box (due to size of hardback book)

the black ice by michael connely (very large hardback)
the thought gang by tibor fischer
the anatomist by federico andahazi
the power of two (t witches series book 1) by gilmour and reisfeld
ringing for you by Anouchka Grose Forrester
Politically Correct Bedtime Stories by james finn garner
forbidden doors series the deceived by bill myers
girl meets ape by chris manby
something stupid by victoria corby
a time to kill by john grisham
a is for alibi by sue grafton
a funny thing happened on the way to the delivery room by various authors
how to train a man by nancy winters
many lives many masters by dr brian weiss
one bear at bedtime by mick inkpen
is it time for bed wibbly pig by mick inkpen
pied piper by nevil shute
girls night in by various authors
the burglar diaries by danny king
case histories by kate atkinson
treasure island by robert louis stevenson
rory mccrory's nightmare machine by paul stewart
the xanadu manuscript by john rowe townsend
ender's game by orson scott card
jane eyre by charlotte bronte

this may seem like loads but apart from the large hardback book a lot of the others are small thin books particularly the childrens and teen books which will mean future bookcrossers on the bookbox list may only be able to replace two books with one book due to space in box.

will re journal once i have heard back from caffcaff on when we are meeting up for coffee and this bookbox is continuing on it's journey.

i would just like to mention it may seem like i am adding to the postage on this box but the shape of box has changed as opposed to the weight (one of the books i took out was replaced by three new ones as thickness of new books much thinner) and postage weight has been checked due to added books and has increased less than two pounds.

i have left a gap down the side for chocs that are travelling with this bookbox and topping up what i've eaten while sorting through books.i have also added three computer cd's to do with childrens education which i gained from cereal boxes these may be of more use to someone with children later on the list.

thanks for organising this raeliz64.

Journal Entry 12 by smallbluepebble from Ilford, Greater London United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 17, 2006
Wow! Now I know what a book box is! I suppose the name should've given me a clue... I just didn't imagine quite such a big box, nor quite so many books. And chocolate too... it really couldn't get much better :-) I'm going to spend a while checking out all these new authors I haven't met before and I'll journal again when I've decided who to take out & who to put in.

Journal Entry 13 by smallbluepebble from Ilford, Greater London United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 24, 2006
It's been a lot of fun, digging through all these lovely books and deciding which ones to choose. In the end, these are the ones I took out:

Many Lives, Many Masters
A is For Alibi
The Burglar Diaries
The Thought Gang
Girls Night In
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Delivery Room

And these are the ones I put in:

The Bitch Goddess Notebook by Martha O'Connor
The Summer Book by Tove Jansson
Jonathan Livingstone Seagull by Richard Bach
Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan
The Prince of West End Avenue by Alan Isler

When I journalled the books I'd taken out, I realised they had all been put in by Foxy737. How did she know I'd want to read all these books ? Spooky.
Now I'm trying to sort out with Redhouse an opportunity to pass on the box, perhaps at the Suffolk Show next Wednesday. The books will definitely be on the move within the next week.
Thanks for the great bookbox raeliz64 :-)

Journal Entry 14 by smallbluepebble from Ilford, Greater London United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 31, 2006
I handed this one over to Redhouse in a chilly Suffolk field, surrounded by assorted forklift trucks. Could it get more surreal ?! It was lovely meeting a fellow bookcrosser, and a shame I couldn't have stayed to chat a little longer (but we were fr-r-r-r-eezing.)

I hope someone enjoys the books I added.

PS... I read A is For Alibi quickly and put it back in the bookbox before handing it over.

Journal Entry 15 by lellie from Trimley St Mary, Suffolk United Kingdom on Thursday, June 1, 2006
Received from smallbluepebble as per previous journal entry. MrRedhouse is back at the Suffolk Show with his fork lift trucks today but I'm at home in the dry, it was very chilly!

This is a very weird box, a bit like the tardis in reverse, the more you take out the less room there is inside!

I've taken out three and I'll have a sort out and try to find three that will fit in and journal again later beffor I go to work.

Journal Entry 16 by lellie from Trimley St Mary, Suffolk United Kingdom on Thursday, June 1, 2006
Choice made, that didn't take long.

Coming Out:
Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan
The Prince Of West End Avenue by Alan Isler
The Bitch Goddess Notebook by Martha O'Connor
(all of these were put in by smallbluepebble)

Going In.
Blackberry Wine by Joanne Harris
Dressing Up For The Carnival by Carol Shields
The Lottery Winner by Mary Higgins Clark.

Am contacting aveburysurfer for address and will move it on next week.
Thanks everyone
