Journal Entry 1 by Korky from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom on Saturday, April 8, 2006
Ex-library stock.
Registered as part of the Race to 3 million challenge.
I started this book with no great expectations and lo and behold was immediately drawn into a great story. Part history, part adventure but most of all a triumph of literature.
Giles Milton takes an obscure piece of history and weaves a magical tale of politics and derring do.
Simply magnificent!

This arrived today along with 4 other packages, thus confirming my suspicions that I have won the sweepstake! Oh dear ..... but how exciting!!
Thank you very much Korky.
This looks really interesting and is going to have to be added to Mt TBR (shhh, don't tell my husband).
