I read this all up on Easter Sunday, like chocolate :)
An easy read and great fun, but clever and gritty nonetheless.
Bank Top is only a few miles from where I grew up, which I think is why I like this author, whilst she probably still qualifies as chick lit her books are far enough removed from London apartments and chardonnay to still be appealing to me :)

I really enjoyed The Bad Mother's Handbook, the first book by Kate Long and Swallowing Grandma is set out in a similar style. Although I enjoyed this one too I felt the ending was a bit disappointing.

More than two years later, but I finally got to it. I did enjoy this, on the whole. The style of writing really moved the story along and I was desperate to know what happened (and what had happened). Unfortunately, we never really found out, or not to my satisfaction. And I'm still not entirely sure I know who the "asides" were from.
