BLURB from back cover:

This is how it works: school, university - and then REAL LIFE. Real Life is about a boss who trusts you, a wardrobe that suits you, friends who support yo uand a fabulous relationship.
Unfortunately, Real Life isn't working out that way for The Temp. School and university were fine. But now? A series of jobs raning from the numbingly mindless to the downright silly to the simply weird! Something isn't right. Who cares about a boss who trusts you? The Temp would settle for a boss who knows her name.
This can't be Real Life, can it?

***

I really like this book. It's witty, light-hearted and fun - without being as soppy as chick-lit can be. The characters are great, and I think the whole thing is written really well.

I'm going to bookray this - maybe with "Virtue" as well... (see http://bookcrossing.com/journal/3899701/Mochagirl/book_-Virtue-Serena-Mackesy for "Virtue" journal)

Picked up today from the post office. Thank you for mailing this book to me. The blue frog is really cute:)

5 June 06: I also enjoyed this book. I liked the fact that it was centered on the main character and on her experiences, without being so focused on the other characters. Oh, I also liked the way in which Sasha struggles to gain her identity and the way in which we only find out her name in the last 50 pages:)
What wasn't so great...the fact that the author seems to have used some of the printed-before material when she inserted chapters which were TOO similar to little articles (eg: the one about finding lots of stuff about your co-workers by investigating their desks).
I am going to pm the next reader right now!

9 June 06: mailed yesterday afternoon!

This just arrived - thanks blaisezabini12 and Mochagirl. I'm half-way through another book at the moment, so will start this one when I finish (probably tonight). I'm looking forward to it!

I found this reasonable light reading - just what I needed after sitting exams at the end of last week. But, it didn't particularly grip me. I found the prose plodded, and the characters didn't appeal. Enjoyable enough, but not great.

Thanks for sharing, Mochagirl. I definately wouldn't have read this author otherwise (the cover design is terrible!).

I've PMed lulubookish and am just waiting for an address to send this on.

UPDATE FRIDAY 23 JUNE 2006: I've just received lulubookish's address, so this is all packaged up and ready to go. I'll take it to the Post Office this afternoon.

This arrived a couple of days ago. I have a couple of other rings ahead of it but will read it as soon as I can. This looks like a fun read, so I'm looking forward to checking it out!

I finished this over the weekend and enjoyed this story quite a bit. I loved the perspective of a temp's life.

I will be reading "Virtue" by this same author next and look forward to it.

It looks like I'm last on the list, so maybe I'll start a new ray with these two books together...

Thanks very much for sharing it!
