A stunning spy story, says the cover. Well, it bored me to death. Boring plot and weak characters. I couldn't feel for them - I just didn't care about their fate.
I received it today, among many others, in an ENORMOUS package ...
Thanks Atenea-Nike, you saved my life :-))

The story is about compromising Nazi documents. Compromising for the British government, because it states that Winston Churchill tried to buy peace from Hitler in 1940, by giving it a huge part of the British Empire. These documents were hidden in a truck full with gold that was stolen by American soldiers, at the end of WWII. In 1979, they are brought into daylight and the chase begin : England, USA, Russia, everyone wants to have them, at any price.
I've never read spy stories before. Although I wouldn't go as far as calling it "stunning", I won't be as harsh as Atenea-Nike :-). The story was... well, interesting. And I've just finished a book with unnervingly beautiful, strong, intelligent, perfect characters, so these "normal" ones were a relish to me. But all these political intrigues are so complicated... I finally lost the thread : who was with who, who was against who, who served which country, who was "good" and who was "bad".... Pfffewww.

This sounds rather interesting. I might give it a try.

I've started and stopped this a couple of times. I just can't seem to find it when I'm in the mood for this sort of thing.
I'm going to make it available and offer it up on the forums to see if anyone else is interested so that it can continue to travel.

Recieved today. . .thanks JeepACV
I didn't get through the whole thing. All of the characters seemed the same to me. The part that I did struggle through was bland.
