The Initiation (Secret Circle, Vol I)

This was a quite well written teen series I read when I was a teen. Basically, it's a trilogy where a girl, a hereditary witch named Cassie, meets up with a coven, and fights a very old evil. It's well done, it's fun, and even better, it does have more than a passing aquaintance with some of the realities of wicca and witchcraft - though, of course, in a Hollywood way.
Good plot, decent characters, and a fun read - definitely fun for teens, especially those remotely interested in the Wicca phenomenon.

I'm heading on a vacation for a few days to Quebec City, in honour of my 30th birthday. As such, I'll be releasing a few books along the way! Hopefully they travel as much as I have in the last thirty years.

i caught the book at the ottawa train station on friday, march 4. there had been a huge train de-railment so i was at the train station for several hours, waitting for my mother-in-law. my freind told me to look for the book "the power" a guy was going to drop it off around 2pm. sure enough at 2:30 i saw two guys liberate the whole series. it was my intention to deliver the book to my friend, however, with so much time on my hands, i started to read it. i found it interesting and have read the series. i really got into the series because i found it reminded me in some ways of my teenage years in the 1990's. i fond the references to motley crue rock shirts etc. quite nostalgic. very much the sort of book i would have read when i was 17. (and 30 something too)

I released this series, one block away from a high school. Teens are often in the coffee shops in the area, so, I hope the books are picked up and helped along their journey to travel far and wide. :)
