Change the World for a Fiver: We Are What We Do

This Book is Currently in the Wild!
14 journalers for this copy...
My boyfriend bought me a copy of this book for Christmas a couple of years ago and I love it. I often look at it and I've recommended it to so many people. It offers simple suggestions on making the world a better place, and it's done in such a cheery way with lovely pictures.
When I found this copy in a charity shop I couldn't resist buying to register on bookcrossing. I'm marking it AVL and hope to start a book ring for it soon.
Incidentally, it was in this book that I first heard about BookCrossing!

Arrived safe and sound this morning - and thank you for the floating candle!
I feel quite virtuous - I do lots of the things in this book already! :) Some lovely ideas, beautifully presented, and with a great slew of useful web addresses.
I shall send this on to Jillbe once I have her address, and I've decanted the links!

Received in the post today, as part of a bookring. I love these kind of books and look forward to reading it, and taking up some of the suggestions. Will then pass on to yennylala.
What a wonderful book. Read it through in one sitting. Lots of lovely ideas to take on (in my case, keep on) to make the world a safer, greener place. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did yennylala.

Hi. Caught this book ages ago but unfortuntely not the pesky kids who nicked my laptop. Only just got a new one.
...hence why it took me so long to enter this. I've read the book thru once and like others before me, I'm already doing alot.
But I have set myself a challenge to change at least three things before I pass it on. I'm great at talking about doing things and then never doing them. Like joining Amnesty...I'm always talking about doing it but never do. (Ooo, there! I just did it...just joined Amnesty online.Wayhey!)
Two more to go and then Cyzaki can have the book.

and again, just registered with Organ Donor online...I have had that letter sitting in my desk at work for months.
Got this this morning, thanks yennylala. It looks interesting, I've had a quick flick through and I'm doing some things already (or trying to, I like giving blood, went yesterday and my iron levels were too low - I was 122 and you have to be 125, how annoying...). I'll have a proper read through later and see what else I can do to change the world!

giving blood was my third thing to do...not got there yet though although it is a new years resolution (the concept of enjoying giving blood is beyond me and my fear of needles!)
What a lovely book. I have to say I'm already doing most of the ideas in the book, almost without realising it, but it's still a great book to browse through. How can it not be great when it mentions both Girlguiding UK and bookcrossing?!
PMing nocton4 for their address.

Arrived today - a complete surprise as I didn''t actually join this bookring!
I''ll pass it on to chickadix as soon as I have an address.
I''ll pass it on to chickadix as soon as I have an address.
I have an address now and it was sent last week.
This arrived a few weeks ago and have finished two days ago. I like the idea of the book and the organisation behind it, plus its presentation is great. However I was hoping for some more interesting ideas because like many other readers I am already doing many of the actions included.
Arrived safely - thank you. Look forward to reading this.
Happy Christmas all xx

Enjoyed reading this. Some of the ideas I was already doing but has also given me inspiration for new ones -- and a kick up the backside to register for my next blood donation session. :)
Arrived this morning, thanks, just I was dashing out to my 2hrs at the cybercentre. Will look at it tonight.
I also do most of the things in this book but I have now registered on line as an organ donor, I already carry a card. I will send it on when I get the address of the next person.

Thanks dolphin :)
It is a nice book, but like other readers I already do a lot of these. I do wonder who the book is aimed at if so many people do lots of it already - or maybe it's just because bookcrossers are already such lovely people!
One idea in particular I will be adopting is reverse haggling for things in charity shops. Awesome! :D

This book was a bit simplistic and, like others, I wonder who it is aimed at. Nice ideas but I think the people who will buy or read this book probably already do many of the things in it and those who don't won't buy or read it.
It has made me think about obtaining a new donor card though (I had one years ago and lost it) so if I am run over by a bus tomorrow (because I already take public transport everywhere!) then this book will have done some good and at least someone can have all my organs (grins).
I will be posting this on to wyldetwo tomorrow.

A beautifully produced and sincere book, but I guess I was hoping for some new ideas - like others I am doing a lot of the things in it already, although there were a few reminders! I think it would make a lovely gift for someone. Thanks for sharing sunflowergirl, and everyone else whose hands it has passed through.
I will now PM wyjane to get it moving again.

this arrived at almost the same time as another similar book 'i count' and i too wonder if i'll find anything new in either of them. what i can't understand is why the world's in the state it is if we're all already doing this stuff? maybe as someone else said if you're into bookcrossing you're likely to be that sort of person already. Hey, as I write this 'I count'has come up in the recently caught box beside me - don't think I've ever featured in there before.
The book has arrived home safely, thanks wyjane for sending it back. And HUGE thanks to everyone on this bookring who looked after the book so well. I'm glad you all enjoyed looking through it. I wanted this book to have lots of nice journal entries before I released it into the wild so that whoever finds it can see how great bookcrossing is. I plan on wild-releasing this book soon.
