Bitten

I bought this book on clearance from Amazon for release. I am so glad that I did not pass it by.
The heroine Elena is a werewolf, more specifically the only female werewolf. (The genes for being a werewolf are passed from father to son, but a woman can only become one if she is bitten and survives the change.) Bitten by a lover, she is just trying to restart live a normal life. Perhaps normal really should be relative.
Written in a highly sensual style, I sometimes laughingly refer to it as soft-core werewolf porn. Despite that (or perhaps because) I enjoyed this book greatly and periodically reread it. I like strong female characters, and the way Elena seems to embrace her own sensuality apeals.
The sequel to this book is Stolen.
Tentative list:

Received in yesterday's mail. Looking forward to reading about a female werewolf.
I started this one today. It seems to present a twist on the werewolf problem of only once a month. I think I will definitely enjoy this one.
I enjoyed reading this one. It certainly does not glamorize the werewolf issues. I am not sure I believe the only female idea, the Author does have to do some more explaining on that one. The writing does flow and I am pulled into the characters, without liking each one. I like the strong female character and want her to remain with the Pack. I would also like the mutt idea flushed out more.
I am in the middle of the next book and hope there is another one in the series. I'll send these both off together.

This is on it's way to dark-draco today.
Received today - thank you. These look great and I can't wait to read them, but I have a couple of other bookrings to read first (why do they always come together!!). These will move to the top of TBR.
This is the first Kelley Armstrong book I have read and I loved it - these hardback editions are wonderful and I think I may have to track down my own editions to keep. I loved the characters and the story, and read the whole thing in about three days.
My only one bug bear was the Pack and Mutt issue. Surely with a pack of only 6, they'd be a bit more open to new blood coming in, as it were. That all seemed a bit weird to me, but maybe there's an explanation in the next book.
This I've started reading and it seems as promising as the first.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I've been on the lookout for this for a few months now because I've got the second in the series.
Thank you to both omly and especially dark-draco, it's going to jump to the top of Mt tbr once I've finished my ring books :-)
