I enjoyed this as I have enjoyed the previous books in the series. The Alex Delaware novels are reliably good crime fiction. I like the continutuity - writing many books in the series allows a lot of character development. I also like reading books set in Los Angeles - it is fun to recognize local streets and landmarks. This book could probably stand alone, but I think it is more enjoyable to read it as part of the series.
